Photo Gallery | Midlands soldier to participate in National Anthem at Super Bowl

A Columbia native has been given the honor to participate in the Super Bowl as NCOIC; which stands for Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the Multi-Service Color Guard.

Sergeant First Class Ervin L. Davis will be responsible for the nine men and women in uniform that will participate in the National Anthem.

The group makes up all four branches of the Armed Services, and was hand-picked by Davis himself.

Sergeant First Class Davis is a graduate of Columbia High School, and a recruiter in the United States Army.

Davis is currently stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 3.
