Columbia will soon participate in a growing national trend when it welcomes the region’s first extreme trampoline park. Construction has already begun on the trampoline park which will be located at The Village at Sandhill and will lease space from the Plex Indoor Sports complex.
The park is scheduled to open during the late fall of 2013. An exact opening date will be announced soon.
HiWire Trampoline Park will feature 20,000 sq. ft. of trampolines, including a large open trampoline field, a trampoline dodgeball stadium, foam pits featuring over 50,000 cubes of foam, an aerial obstacle course, high-wire slack lines and a flying trapeze.
Trampoline aerobics classes will also be offered.
Both children and adults can participate. Customers pay for jumping time “per hour” with pricing between $8 and $12 per hour. HiWire will host birthday parties, private events, dodgeball tournament; and Club HiWire— special weekend club nights with laser lighting and live DJ music.
Trampoline Parks are the hottest amusement venue/extreme sports trend sweeping the nation. There are currently almost 80 parks operating in the United States with total annual revenue for this growing industry at almost $150 million.
HiWire Owner and Developer Case Lawrence, is also the owner of South Carolina’s first ever trampoline park, which is scheduled to open in Greenville in the next few weeks.
“Columbia is the ideal city for our next park. It has strong demographics of youth and young adults; and has an active recreational culture,” said Case Lawrence, owner and developer of HiWire. “We found a truly unique building opportunity for this concept. HiWire will be one of the nicest and largest trampoline parks in the country.”
