Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for fraud.
Lott said between 11:00 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on June 28 at 7226 Sunview Drive in Columbia an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s home by prying the rear door open.
The sheriff added that the suspect ransacked a bedroom and stole credit cards, a social security card, a blank business check, a black Glock 9MM handgun and a lock box containing cash.
A black male suspect was captured on video surveillance equipment using the victim’s ATM card on July 1 just before 2:00 p.m. at the AllSouth Federal Credit Union at 7844 Garners Ferry Road.
Lott is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect in the video surveillance photos and the suspect responsible for the burglary. The suspect used the card on three occasions:
- July 1, 2013 – 7844 garners Ferry Road for $302.00
- July 1, 2013 – 5662 Broad Street for $402.00
- July 1, 2013 – 5662 Broad Street for $302.00
