The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying or locating a suspect wanted for motor vehicle theft and fraud.
The report said between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. on May 1, an unknown suspect broke into a vehicle on Ivy Garden Lane, and stole the victim’s purse, cash, and debit card.
According to sheriff’s deputies, when the victim called to alert her bank of the stolen debit card, she was informed that it had been used at three different locations; the Shell Gas Station (334 Harbison Boulevard) charges on the card pending, Exxon Gas Station (2220 Broad River Road) for a charge of $91.00, and the Raceway Gas Station (2114 Broad River Road) for a charge of $20.00.
The suspect was captured on video surveillance using the victim’s debit card at Shell Gas Station.
