Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a trio they say were caught in the act trying to steal copper from a business.
Deputies arrested and charged 24-year-old Broderick Carolina, 27-year-old Christopher Moore and 21-year-old Christian Brown with burglary.
The report said just before 2:00 AM on Monday, May 6, Carolina, Moore, and Brown forced entry through the back door of a business located at 2340 Broad River Road.
Upon arrival, deputies found the back door to the business open and during the search located Carolina, Moore, and Brown hiding inside a closet along with a backpack with various tools and flashlights, the report stated.
Deputies say they also discovered another backpack next to pieces of cut copper wiring on the floor near the rear of the building inside the electrical room.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that alert deputies in the area nabbed Carolina, Moore, and Brown by not having tunnel vision and looking at every and anything that may have been out of place – this led to capturing thieves in the process of committing a crime.
Carolina, Moore, and Brown were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
