Columbia Police arrested an Allen University student after he allegedly stole a book bag from another student.

Police arrested 21-year-old Clayton Clark, Jr. and charged him with larceny, resisting arrest, failure to stop on police command, and escape, after he allegedly took a book bag from an Allen University student in the middle of the day on May 8.

According to police, the alleged victim flagged down an officer who was on patrol in the area and pointed out Clark.

The officer spotted Clark running at the corner of Harden and Hampton Streets and asked him to stop, according to police. Clark allegedly refused.

A short time later, officers were able to catch up with Clark and he was arrested.
