The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the community’s assistance in locating a woman wanted for larceny.

Deputies say just after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, they responded to a larceny call at 817 St. Andrews Road (Kroger Store).

According to sheriff’s deputies, the victim purchased a money order and placed it on the counter of the business, and then mistakenly left it sitting there, only to find it missing upon her return just moments later.

Deputies say Shatonia Trenae Butler was seen in line behind the victim at the business and fled with the $900 money order.

Investigators were able to determine that on March 6, Butler cashed the stolen money order at 1441 Main Street (Wells Fargo Bank).

Surveillance video was able to capture Butler, in the bank, with the stolen money order.

If you know where Butler is hiding you could receive up to $1000 for information leading to her arrest, please call, email or text your anonymous tip to Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
