Photo Gallery | Five Points to go green

Columbia's Five Points will kick off the Saint Patrick's Day season by going green on Friday.<--break->

The fountain in Five Points will be dyed green, in preparation for the big St. Patrick’s Day party in two weeks.

The community will welcome the green and Gaelic season with a free event for people of all ages. The event will take place at the Five Points fountain from 5-7 p.m.

Annually, hundreds of little leprechauns and their much taller chaperones participate in the Kick-Off to St. Pat’s, highlighted by:

  • Children helping in the tradition of dyeing the fountain green,
  • Entertainment from the nationally award winning Rince N’ah Eireann Irish step dancers, and
  • Bagpipers in traditional Irish garb.

All children will receive a goody bag with prizes and are invited to participate in the Great Leprechaun Hunt.
