Four teens were arrested after police say they broken into a car and stole electronics last week.
Khamori Dayvelle Scott, 17, Jasmine Istey Richardson, 19, Chelsea Lasha Dennis, 19, and Brandon Terrell Jenkins, 17, were arrested after police say they smashed out a window of a car while it was parked in the 700 block of Pavilion Street Sept. 21.
The suspects are also accused of stealing items including an iPod and other electronics.
“We always tell people to lock their doors and hide their valuables,” Columbia Police Interim Chief Ruben Santiago said. “In this case, to our knowledge the doors were secured. Officers have increased patrols where these crimes are occurring.”
Scott is accused of running from police during the incident and trying to hide underneath another vehicle.
Scott, Richardson, Dennis and Istey are facing several charges including damaging or tampering with a vehicle and petit larceny.
All four were transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
