Benedict College Spring Commencement Ceremony set for May 11

 

The Benedict College Spring Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2013 will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium located on Two Notch Road and Read Street in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins, III, Executive Director of American Baptist Home Mission Societies, will give the keynote address during the College’s 143rd Commencement Exercises.

Hundreds of Columbia residents joined Sen. Joel Lourie and his family as the Capital Senior Center unveiled its new name—Lourie Center—in honor of the late Sen. Isadore Lourie.

 

At a ceremony on Thursday, April 18, Sen. Joel Lourie, with his family standing by his side, recounted the essence of whom his father was and why he should be remembered.

Mayor Steve Benjamin is proud to announce the selection of the 2013 Spring Semester class of Mayor's Fellows.

 

Upon taking office, Mayor Benjamin launched the internship program that has welcomed over 40 students to date. It is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and provides an opportunity to actively participate in the municipal government process.
