3 Rivers Music Festival returns | News
After a six year hiatus, the 3 Rivers Music Festival will return to Columbia’s Vista on Saturday, July 13.
This year R&B chart-topper Musiq Soulchild and perennial Country favorite Lee Greenwood will headline the event.
“We are excited to be able to deliver quality acts like this to music fans in the Midlands,” said organizer Sandra Sims. “And the fact that it’s free means that anyone who wants to enjoy a fabulous day of entertainment can join us for a great show.”
In addition to Musiq Soulchild and Lee Greenwood, a full lineup of popular national and local acts will appear.
On the Country and Rock Stage at Park and Lady Streets, starting at 2 p.m., Janie Metts, John Wesley Satterfield, Tokyo Joe, The Mobros, and Patrick Davis will lead up to Greenwood’s performance at 8 p.m.
The Rhythm and Blues acts will kick off at 2:45 p.m. on another stage at Park and Pendleton Streets. Preach Jacobs, Cheri Marree, The Terence Young Experience, and The SOS Band will perform prior to Musiq Soulchild who will come on at 8:30 p.m.
This family-oriented festival will feature a Kid Zone and a full range of vendors to provide refreshments and souvenirs.
While there is no charge to attend, VIP tickets will be sold, offering admission to a special air conditioned area with free food and drink as well as up close access.
VIP tickets are available on the Festival website, www.3RiversMusicFestival.com or at the 3 Rivers office, 710 Heidt Street in Columbia.
“We are delighted with the way our new festival is shaping up,” said Sims. “We’re kicking it off with a Gospel Extravaganza with JMoss and other acts in Saint Andrews Park on July 6, and we know the day in the Vista will be a huge success, too.”
