CMRTA offers pilot bus route for Lexington Co. residents | News
Lexington County and its community partners are making it a lot easier for the residents of the community to get around by offering roundtrip service from downtown Columbia to Lexington's Red Bank crossing every Monday.
According to a news release, every Monday a CMRTA bus will travel to Lexington’s Red Bank Crossing, 1070 S. Lake Drive, which houses the Lexington County Health Department, Department of Social Services, and Lexington‐Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC).
The pilot bus route will provide roundtrip service three times each Monday making stops in Cayce and West Columbia.
The bus is scheduled to depart from the CMRTA’s Sumter Street transfer station every Monday at 8:15 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:45 p.m. with four stops between the Transit Center and Red Bank Crossing.
These stops include:
o Knox Abbott and State Streets
o 12th and Poplar Streets
o Sunset Boulevard and Craft Street
o West Hospital and North Hospital Drive (Lexington Medical Center)
The pilot bus route will operate every Monday, (with the exception of Monday, May 27th –Memorial Day) and runs through June 24th.
