Benedict College celebrates the grand opening of new Student Health Center | News
Benedict College will celebrate the official opening of its new Student Health Center on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. The grand opening celebration and touring of the new center will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the new building located at 2315 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC. The students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.
The 4,770 square foot new facility will include four exam rooms, six offices, a lab, recovery room, and a conference room. “We are very excited with this new building,” said Ms. Daphne New, Director of Student Health Center. “This new facility will allow us to expand our services to care for our students. Our mission is to keep the Benedict College Family Healthy.”
The Student Health Center provides a Medical Assistance Plan, staffed by experienced nurses and doctors, and an emergency treatment arrangement with appropriate referrals to local medical facilities as needed. Also, medical services are provided at no cost to students, except for physical examination and some vaccinations.
