COLUMBIA, SC (WIS)- Richland County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man accused of stabbing three people on New Year's Day.
Officials arrested 25-year-old Jose Castro-Benegas and charged him with three counts of attempted murder.
Authorities say the incident took place at a party on Alpine Road when the suspect
and one of the party-goers began to argue. That argument eventually
turned physical, and three others attempted to split up the fight.
Deputies believe at that point Castro-Benegas pulled out a knife and stabbed three people in the upper body.
The victims were taken to Palmetto Health Richland and treated for their wounds.
Castro-Benegas remains in jail.
