Columbia-Richland  9-1-1 Recognized as SC Emergency Communications Center of the Year

 

The Annual South Carolina Association of Public Safety Officials Conference recognized the Columbia-Richland 9-1-1 Communications Center as the 2012 South Carolina Emergency Communications Center of the Year. In addition, Naeemah Foster and Wendy Royal, Columbia-Richland 9-1-1 employees, received the Palmetto Award.

 

The Columbia-Richland Communications Center (CRC 9-1-1) telecommunicators answer approximately 385,160 calls for emergency (9-1-1), 446,552 non-emergency incoming calls, 279,696 non-emergency outgoing calls and 540,262 calls are dispatched every year.  Dispatched calls are for services to be provided by local first responders. The CRC 9-1-1 center is equipped with dedicated telecommunicators that have a willingness to assist every caller. They deserve our appreciation and acknowledgment for a job well done. 

 

The Columbia-Richland Communications Center (CRC 911) provides continuous consolidated emergency dispatch services for the Columbia Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia Fire Department, and Richland County Emergency Services. The City of Columbia is extremely proud of this esteemed accomplishment.
