A spring growers meeting to discuss compliance with labor rules and regulations is set for May 14 at the State Farmers Market, 3483 Charleston Highway, West Columbia.  The meeting is at 9 a.m. at the Phillips Market Center.

Representatives from the United State Department of Labor will present information important to farmers and growers and the operations they run. The meeting is open to all growers, labor industry professionals and agribusiness industry representatives. The session will include a question and answer time.

Art lovers from across the Midlands are invited out for City of Columbia Parks and Recreation’s annual Spring Arts Festival on this Saturday, April 27, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Maxcy Gregg Park.

This celebration of art will feature live entertainment including dance, acoustic guitar, vocals, improvisations and more.  There will be a host of exhibitors showcasing wonderful, handmade creations such as ceramics, jewelry, pottery and paintings.

Head out to the Midlands Plant & Flower Festival this weekend for a great selection of Certified SC Grown plants, flowers and specialty food products. Thousands are expected for the festival that starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday (April 18-21) at the State Farmers Market, located at 3483 Charleston Hwy., West Columbia.
