Benedict College participated in the Eighth Annual South Carolina Historically Black Colleges and Universities (SCHBCU) Blood Battle- Blood Drive against South Carolina State University and came out victorious. Benedict, once again, was awarded the silver trophy from the American Red Cross to recognize the commitment and hard work the institution continues to put forth. Benedict College had 139 donors and met its goal of 105 pints of blood.

The City of Columbia will host the 6th Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence on Saturday, October 13 at Finlay Park (930 Laurel Street) at 9 a.m.  This walk is FREE to the public.  There will also be a FREE information fair before and after the walk with organizations such as Sistercare, SCCADVASA, Walgreens and the State Office of Victim Assistance.
