City of Columbia To Hold Public Education Forum

The City of Columbia and SCE&G will hold a public education session on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Capital Senior Center located at 1650 Park Circle, to discuss upcoming tree trimming activities near utility distribution lines.

 

Citizens are encouraged to attend this information session to learn more about tree trimming that will be completed in 2013. 

 

Topics covered will include:

  • Purpose and Guidelines for Utility Pruning
  • ANSI Standards
  • Grand Trees
  • Protection of Trees
  • Columbia’s Aging Tree Canopy

 

Representatives from the City of Columbia and SCE&G will provide educational materials and be available to answer any questions about proper pruning techniques and upcoming activities.
