The Columbia Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect accused of stealing several items from an unlocked car that was parked at the Post Office in downtown Columbia Wednesday.
Police say shortly before 10 a.m. an unknown suspect stole the victim’s purse which contained money and several debit and credit cards from an unlocked car that was parked at the Post Office.
The suspect or suspects then used the cards to fraudulently purchase $700 worth of various items, the report stated.
Police say the individual captured in the above surveillance photo is being considered a person of interest in the case.
Investigators would like to locate this individual and speak with him about the crime.
