Sheriff: Man burglarizes home on birthday | Crime
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man they say burglarized a home on his birthday, the report stated.
Deputies arrested and charged 46-year-old Darren Eaddy with burglary.
The report said on Wednesday, February 27, around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home located on Summit Townes Way.
Upon arrival, deputies found the rear door of the home open with its glass broken, the report stated. Officers say they spotted Eaddy inside the home running down the hallway towards the front door.
According to Sheriff Leon Lott, Eaddy fled the residence on foot, but was later apprehended by deputies.
Deputies say the victims were located hiding in the attic unharmed.
Sheriff Lott added that Eaddy stole and had in his possession at the time of his arrest, a wallet, cash, and cell phone that belonged to the victims.
Eaddy was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
According to the report, Eaddy birthday is February 27.
