Deputies: Suspect steals car with baby inside, drops child off at hotel | Crime

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man they say stole a woman’s car with her baby still inside.

Deputies say they arrested 41-year-old Eriva Youmous Jr. after they say he stole woman’s car as she was dropping off a movie at Red Box located on Parklane Road on Jan. 6.

The report said after Youmous took the car, he realized there was a baby inside the vehicle.

Deputies say Youmous dropped the child off in the lobby of the Quality Inn hotel located on Two Notch Road. Hotel employees then contacted law enforcement.

A short time later, deputies spotted the vehicle on Duke Hill Road, and were able to apprehend Youmous.

Deputies say the child who was unharmed.
