Deputies: Neighbor helps deputies nab suspect who stole stove, microwave from home | Crime
An alert citizen helped deputies nab a man wanted for burglary and larceny.
Deputies say 45-year-old Mack Wilson was arrested and charged with burglary and larceny.
The report said after 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, Wilson entered a residence located at 277 Birchfield Road, through a rear window.
Deputies say an observant neighbor saw Wilson, and the black pickup truck he was driving fleeing the scene and called 911.
The citizen supplied officers with a description of Wilson.
Officers were also informed that Wilson was headed down Hard Scrabble Road, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies conducted a suspicious vehicle traffic stop, and arrested Wilson with the stolen items located in the bed of the truck on Hard Scrabble Road, the report stated.
Deputies say Wilson stole a black stove, and a microwave from the home.
Sheriff Leon Lott continues to praise citizens of Richland County, who are getting involved to help fight crime and put criminals like Wilson where they belong, behind bars. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that being proactive is a way to reduce crime in your neighborhood and ensuring the safety of your family and your property.
Wilson was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
