Find A Site Near You: Children’s FREE Summer Lunch Program | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
This summer any child who wants lunch will be able to get it free at 114 sites in Richland and Lexington counties through the federally funded Seamless Summer Feeding Program.
Richland One has secured dozens of locations, including churches, parks and child care centers, which will serve as designated sites. Any child can go to any of the sites and ask for a meal, which will be provided at no cost to them or their parents.
“Although Richland One is coordinating this program, we want to stress that these meals are available to any child, not just those that live in Richland One,” said Student Nutrition Services Director Imogene Clarke. “In addition to sites throughout Columbia, we have sites in Blythewood, Swansea, Cayce, Irmo, Lugoff, West Columbia, Elgin and other communities.”
Any nonprofit organizations interested in participating in the program or in need of assistance providing meals for the children they serve, should contact the Richland One Office of Student Nutrition Services at 231-6953. Questions from the media should be directed to the Richland One Office of Communications at 231-7510 or 231-7504.
