RCSD to host Skills on Wheels Basketball benefit | Community Spirit
Sheriff Leon Lott invites the community to come enjoy the “Skills on Wheels” Basketball Game to support the Richland County Recreation Commission’s Youth Wheelchair Basketball League. This benefit basketball game will be played in wheelchairs by Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies and City of Columbia Fire Fighters.
The benefit game tips off at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Crane Creek Gymnasium, 4505-B Fairfield Road. Admission is $3.00 for persons 3 years of age and up; proceeds will benefit the Richland County Recreation Commission’s Youth Wheelchair Basketball League. This exciting game is brought to you in part by the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association, Blaze Sports America, Family Connection, Special Olympics, Therapy Place, and the Richland County Recreation Commission.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that this “Skills on Wheels” basketball game is a great way to bring attention to those special athletes who have overcome obstacles and have persevered adversity to achieve greatness as extraordinary athletes.
