Learning Adventure Bus rolls into Sanders Middle School | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
On February 1, the Learning Adventure Bus (LAB), Richland One’s mobile computer lab, rolled into W. G. Sanders Middle School around 8:45 a.m.
Sanders’ guidance department will utilize the LAB to help students explore various careers through virtual job shadowing.
February 1 is National Groundhog Job Shadow Day. Shadowing is a short-term educational experience that introduces a student to a particular job or career by pairing a student with an employee of a business, industry or agency. However, since all of our students will not have an opportunity to pair up with a business, the Learning Adventure Bus will provide a virtual job shadowing experience and give students the opportunity to explore different careers. Using South Carolina Occupational Information System (SCIOS), a computer-based system of up-to-date career, educational and occupational information, a student will be able to use his/her personal account to access virtual jobs, to complete career assessments, and to develop their individualized career portfolio/planner.
