Title (Max 100 Characters)
The McDonald’s restaurant located at 1024 Elmwood Ave. invites the entire community to a free grand re-opening celebration Saturday, January 12. The restaurant has undergone several contemporary changes designed to enhance the customer experience and is inviting the public out to celebrate and experience its new look.
The event, hosted by local owners Willis and Clara Langley, will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special activities will include: Ronald McDonald meet and greet, a special appearance by Cocky, raffle prizes (including a flat screen TV), along with music by the Big DM, fire truck tours by the Richland County Fire Department, free face painting, $1.99 Big Macs, giveaways, and more!
To kick off the celebrations, the restaurant will feature daily specials, starting Monday January 7, leading up to Saturday’s event.
This is one of the several McDonald’s in the Greater Columbia area that have been built or redesigned with the new McDonald’s look.
In 2011, McDonald’s USA announced a $1 billion investment to redesign the majority of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants by 2015. Last year, McDonald’s and its franchisees remodeled 600 restaurants and rebuilt 200 nationwide. In 2012, McDonald’s plans to improve on that total, targeting 800 new remodels, 225 rebuilds and 175 new store openings – a 24 percent total increase in renovations over the previous year.
