Legendary Harlem Globetrotters to play in celebrity basketball tournament | Community Spirit

The Legendary Harlem Globetrotter Bring their 2013 World Tour to the Midlands. The Hall of Fame organization, featuring world-class basketball players and entertainers, will showcase their new Globetrotter Preview at Eau Claire High School, located at 4800 Monticello Road, Sunday, October 28th at 5 PM in the afternoon. The Globetrotters will play against the Brasley All-Stars, which will coached by one basketball greatest legends, Ms. Dawn Staley.

Bad Boy Roy, The 1st ever Hair Boss is giving back to his community again by hosting the Harlem Globetrotter’s Preview that will be a fundraiser for the Sally R. Brasley Giving Hands Scholarship. The Sally R. Brasley Giving Hands Scholarship was established in 2010 by Roger “Bad Boy Roy” Brasley, Jr. in memory of his late grandmother Mrs. Sally R. Brasley. Mrs. Brasley committed her life to enriching and enhancing the lives of everyone that she came in contact with. Her lessons are still being passed on to hundreds of young adults to this day through the community outreach initiatives her beloved grandson, Mr. Roger Brasley, Jr. has committed his life to. The Sally R. Brasley Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of young adults throughout the Midlands. In 2011 the Sally R. Brasley Foundation awarded its first Sally R. Brasley Giving Hands Scholarship to a young trailblazer. The Sally R. Brasley Scholarship is awarded to those deserving high school seniors that consistently display their dedication to obtaining a college degree and to giving back to their community. The Brasley Family is committed to awarding a record number of scholarships this year.

There will be a pre-game event, an Album Release Party for Grammy Award Winning R&B Vocalist Angie Stone, Saturday, October 27th at 9 PM at Chelsea’s Restaurant located at 1734 Main Street. The All-star game will be Sunday, October 28th at 5 PM at Eau Claire High School located at 4800 Monticello Road. This All-star event will include Celebrity R&B Vocalist Angie Stone, a 3 point shootout competition and an autograph session with the Harlem Globetrotters and our celebrity basketball coach, Dawn Staley. General admission tickets are $15 and Student Tickets with student ID are $10. Advanced tickets can be purchased at Dimensional Design Salon, located at 17-I Diamond Lane, Columbia, South Carolina.
