Located in the heart of downtown Columbia, Main Street Ice has proven to be a big attraction this holiday season. The Main Street Ice skating rink comes as a result of a partnership between the City of Columbia and Magic Ice U.S.A. and has drawn a crowd of over 4,000 skaters since opening day on Thursday, November 23 from all across South Carolina.
In conjunction with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Honor the Dream food drive, tonight from 5-9 p.m. skaters who bring two canned goods will receive a discount on skate fees.
The rink will be open seven days a week with the following operating hours:
· Monday –Thursday, 11 a.m.- 9 p.m.
· Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
· Sunday, 1 p.m.- 9 p.m.
The rink will be closed on Christmas Day.
Main Street Ice has new weekly specials. Mondays from 5-9 p.m. is "Church Night" and for those who bring in their church's current program they will receive a discount. Tuesday is "College Night," with a current college I.D. students can receive a discount on skating fees and Thursday is "Teen Night."
Skating fees will be $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and under. Special senior and military discounts are offered. Skate rentals are included in the skating fees and skaters will be issued an all-day skate wristband. Skate fees are the same for individuals that bring their own skates. Reservations will be taken for large groups planning to visit the rink.
Main Street Ice will remain open until January 6, 2013.
