Columbia Jaycees to Host a Movie at the Nickelodeon Theater on May 16th | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Columbia Jaycees will be hosting an outing to the Nickelodeon Theatere on Wednesday, May 16th. The theater is located at 937 Main Street in Columbia. They will be seeing the movie “Coriolanus” at 8:00pm. Admission is $7.50 and drink specials at The Nick include buckets (4 bottles) of PBR for $6 or Yeungling for $8. Wine will also be available for purchase.
The movie “Coriolanus” updates one of Shakespeare's plays by setting it in modern Rome, but keeping the original Shakespearian dialogue. The title character is a fierce General that fought Rome's most dreaded enemies and returned to the city a war hero. Upon his return, his mother convinces him to run for a government position in order to continue enhancing his career. However, when the public refuses to support him, his political foes use the opportunity to brand him as a traitor and expel him from the city. He then joins forces with his former enemies to invade Rome and take revenge on the city that banished him. Check out the movie trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX6M7q6ysGs.
Also, since the movie is set in the city of Rome, the Columbia Jaycees will meet before the movie at 6pm for an Italian dinner and drinks at Brioso. Brioso is located at 601 Main Street, Suite D in Columbia.
