Deputies investigating meth lab in Olympia neighborhood

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS)- Richland County Sheriff's deputies are on the scene of a methamphetamine lab in the Olympia neighborhood.

Investigators are at a home in the 200 block of Church Street, off Whaley Street.  Deputies were serving a search warrant at the home just before 3 p.m. Thursday when they say they found an active meth lab.

Deputies arrested three people. Their names have not been released.

The Columbia Fire Department was called to the scene to assist.

Man arrested after shooting near Applebee's, Smashburger

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS)- Columbia Police have arrested one person and are looking for others involved in a shooting incident near two restaurants on Devine Street Wednesday night.

Police say 24-year-old Carveea Bernard Washington has been charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and pointing and presenting a firearm. Also pending is a charge of discharging a firearm in city limits.

Police say shots were fired in between parking lots for Applebee's and Smashburger just after 9 p.m. The restaurants are in the 4500 block of Devine Street.
